Not one ticket but four scenarios. Pick by what matters most: price, coverage, a guide, or door-to-door convenience from Paris.

Our recommendation

For most first-time visitors the Passport ticket is the best fit: palace, gardens, Trianon and special exhibitions in one pass. A guided tour makes sense for history and context; a transfer makes sense if you don't want to deal with RER C.

  • First visit, want to see everythingFull coverage: palace, gardens, Trianon, special exhibitions.
  • Cheapest option matters mostPalace only; gardens are usually free outside Musical Fountains days.
  • I want historical contextSkip-the-line guided tour is the best format for context.
  • I don't want to deal with RER CRound-trip transfer from Paris bundled with the ticket.

What is often not included

  • On Musical Fountains and Musical Gardens days the gardens are paid — separate ticket from €10 (Passport usually covers it).
  • The basic Palace Ticket does not include the Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon and Marie-Antoinette's Estate.
  • RER C from central Paris is about €4 each way; a transfer ticket is worth it mainly for the time savings.
  • Audio guide is usually included on the official site and not always with resellers. Check before booking.
